About Us

Discover Nepal with Namaste Manang

If you’ve chosen Nepal as your next travel destination, you’ve made one of the best decisions of your life. Nepal is a truly epic country, renowned for its majestic landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and warm, welcoming people. It offers a rare blend of breathtaking mountains, ancient traditions, and serene environments. Incredibly, Nepal is home to the greater one-horned rhinoceros (also known as the “armoured rhino”), the royal Bengal tiger, the elusive snow leopard, and over 900 species of birds—making it a perfect destination for meaningful travel and peaceful refreshment.

Travel is a rare and special experience. Most of us travel only once or twice a year, so careful planning is essential. However, managing the details—where to stay, how to get around, and what to see—can take away from your enjoyment. That’s where Namaste Manang comes in.

Founded in 2020, Namaste Manang operates nature and culture-based tourism, established by experienced hoteliers from the Manang district in the Annapurna region, who have been actively involved in people-participatory conservation in the Annapurna Conservation Area for over two decades. Our mission is to make your journey smooth, memorable, and responsible.

We not only take care of your travel needs, but we also work to protect local culture and the natural environment. Our approach promotes nature-based and culture-based tourism, ensuring that tourism benefits both travelers and local communities.

Our Eco-Friendly Commitments:

At Namaste Manang, we take pride in leading by example. We have developed our own sustainability criteria for tours and accommodations. Here are some of the eco-conscious practices we follow:

Our Eco-Conscious Practices

  1. Shared Transport for a Lighter Footprint

We actively promote shared vehicle options to reduce carbon emissions and limit traffic congestion in fragile mountain ecosystems. All vehicles must meet at least Euro 3 emission standards.

  1. Commitment to the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Our partner hotels are required to follow the core principles of waste management—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—to minimize their environmental impact.

  1. Environmental Ambassadors

Every hotel and lodge we partner with serves as a local ambassador for wildlife conservation and environmental protection, helping spread awareness through responsible practices.

  1. Clean Energy Commitment

We prioritize accommodations that rely on hydropower and solar energy, significantly reducing dependence on fossil fuels and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.

  1. Greening the Region

We actively support and encourage tree plantation campaigns with local communities to restore native habitats and enhance carbon sequestration.

  1. Eco-Panels to Reduce Forest Pressure

For the first time in the region, we have introduced eco-panel building materials as part of a sustainable construction demonstration project. These reduce reliance on firewood and timber, offering a model for eco-friendly home and hotel construction.

  1. Sustainable Harvest Practices

We discourage the use of traditional firewood and promote clean cooking alternatives. Where forest products are used, we ensure they are sourced legally and sustainably through local Forest User Committees under a verified harvest plan.

  1. “Pack It In, Pack It Out” Waste Responsibility

All guests receive a personal waste bag and are required to carry their non-biodegradable waste back with them. Guides are responsible for ensuring that everyone adheres to this practice.

  1. ZeWa: Our Zero Waste Initiative

We advocate for waste segregation, composting, and plastic-free operations in all our tours and partner facilities through our ZeWa (Zero Waste) Initiative.

  1. Respect for Wildlife

We strictly remind all visitors to maintain a safe distance from wildlife, limit observation time, and refrain from using flash photography, artificial lighting, or making loud noises. Respectful wildlife watching is a core value of our tours
