Chame is the headquarters of the Manang district, so all district-level hospitals, banks and government offices are based here. Nestled in old Chame, Hotel White Stupa is close to a stupa, a monastery, prayer wheels and sculptures of Buddha and Milarepa, right beside the river. As the oldest settlement in Chame, it sits at the safest point in town, surrounded by a picturesque blend of alpine forest, mountains, cliffs and Himalayan grandeur. The spacious hall is warmed by a firewood heater on cold evenings, and a separate hut serves bean coffee (Americano, latte, cappuccino), Himalayan green tea, red tea and pu-erh tea — served only here in town.
